I sort of put off trying this recipe because I already make a mean spaghetti, and really, how many ways can you improve upon an old classic, right. What the heck was I waiting for?!? This Baked Spaghetti is fantastic, and should definitely be added to your rotating menu.
Ingredient List:
1 450g pkg Spaghetti
1 pound Ground Beef
1 Onion (chopped)
4 cups Spaghetti Sauce
1/2 teaspoon Seasoning Salt
2 Eggs
1/3 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
5 Tablespoons melted Butter
1 Tablespoon of Garlic Powder
2 Cups Cottage Cheese
4 Cups Shredded Mozarella Cheese (divided)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly grease a lasagna pan or large baking dish. (9x13 is NOT big enough).
Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain. Set aside.
Brown ground beef and onion.
Stir in spaghetti sauce and seasoning salt.
Whisk eggs, parmesan cheese, butter, and garlic salt in a large bowl.
Add cooked spaghetti and toss to coat.
Place 1/2 the spaghetti mixture into a baking dish.
Top with 1/2 the cottage cheese, mozzarella, and meat sauce.
Repeat layers, withholding the remaining mozzarella cheese.
Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Remove foil and cover with remaining mozzarella cheese.
Return to oven and continue to bake until cheese is melted and lightly browned, about 20 minutes.
