I am WAY too lazy to make actual cabbage rolls, although I love the flavor combinations, so this one-pan recipe is great. It's also a quick weeknight meal that'll feed a crowd.
Ingredient List:
1 pound Ground Beef
1 Large Onion
1 Small Head Cabbage
2 15oz Can Diced Tomatoes
1 15 oz Can Tomato Sauce
2 4.5oz Jars of Whole Mushrooms (optional)
1 Cup Water
1 C Rice
1 Teaspoon Black Pepper
1 Teaspoon Salt
Shredded Cheese (for garnish)
In a large pot, brown hamburger on medium-low heat.
Once you have a little grease in the bottom of your pan, add onions and sautee with hamburger till hamburger is browned. Drain fat if needed.
Add Diced Tomatoes, Tomato Sauce, & Mushrooms to the pot.
Give it a stir.
Add water and rice.
Stir again.
Add Salt and Pepper.
Stir again
Add Cabbage.
Stir again
Cover pot, and simmer for 25 minutes, or until rice is cooked through, and cabbage is tender.
Let sit 10 minutes before serving.
Garnish with shredded cheese (optional) and enjoy!
